UNITED FOR PEACE AND PROSPERITY-3

Newsletter No 3 – 30th Sept 2022

ISRAEL PALESTINE FOCUS
No 2-newsletter introduced 7 existing Palestinian Israeli organisations seeking peace and development. One organisation immediately caught the eye was Musalaha (Reconciliation). Musalaha’s 6-stage cyclical process, created and applied, was discovered to have much in common with UNA’s framework for sustainable develop -ment that has been applied consistently over the last 10 years on this UPP project.

MUSALAHA
An organisation based in Jerusalem, founded 30 years ago, has developed a curriculum for reconciliation. They build grassroots relationships across divided and separated communities in Israel/Palestine.
In John Howard’s book (Pages 98 to 102), 19 sentences of special interest have been highlighted for further reference.

MUSALAHA LEADERSHIP
Daniel Munayer, newly appointed Exec, Director is coming to the UK in October. Daniel was appointed when the founding Director, Dr Salim Munayer retired, Daniel holds a degree in International Relations and Affairs from the American University in Washington DC.

PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT
6 other Palestinian/Israeli organisations, mentioned in Issue 2, have similar goals, but methods have yet to be discovered. All 6 remain symbols of hope. As examples, Tent of Nations motto is “We refuse to be enemies”. Hand-in-Hand’ schools focus on how we learn and not just what we learn,
