‘HOPE IN ISRAEL PALESTINE’
Chapter 6 of John Howard’s 2021 book is titled ‘Signs of hope for a better future’. Activities of seven local organisations, dedicated to nurturing hope are described. All organisations are unique and to be admired. One of the seven has based their approach to reconciliation on a cyclical, 6-stage process for change and growth. Musalaha’s process shares much common ground with UNA Central Region’s approach to sustainable development. Colin Briant from Musalaha UK in Tring, Hertfordshire has provided quality information for further analysis.
MUSALAHA UK EVENT
On behalf of Central Region, I was a ‘zoom’ guest of Musalaha on 11th Oct when Executive Director, Daniel Munayer in Jerusalem shared progress of 30 years’ Musalaha experience in reconciliation between Israel and Palestine. Daniel is a Palestinian Christian with an Israeli passport and who speaks fluent Arabic, English and Hebrew. Daniel recently met the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, in Jerusalem who then invited him to address the UN Security Council. Daniel also wants to learn how to build relationships with the UK.
